Canadian Architectural Certification Board

The CACB held a successful conference on September 26-27, 2014 in Saint-Sauveur, Québec under the Theme: Educating Future Architects” with the objective of conducting a deep and a rigorous review on how architectural education is adapting and anticipating changes in the discipline and in the profession. Lieutenant Governor’s Award of Excellence in Architecture

This award program provides an opportunity to recognize outstanding design work by Prince Edward Island Architects. The awards program takes place quadrennially starting in 2008, and will be instituted every four years.

The 2008 winners of this award were BGHJ/HOK Architects in a joint venture for the design of the Jean Canfield Government of Canada Building in Charlottetown. In 2012, BGHJ/MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple ins a joint venture took top honours for the Health Sciences Building at UPEI.  Honourable mention went to Open Practice Collaborative Architecture for Aaron Stavert’s work on a private Charlottetown residence.

The objective of the Lieutenant Governor’s Award of Excellence in Architecture is to recognize and celebrate outstanding architectural design accomplishments in completed projects by Prince Edward Island Architects.
